After the completion of another successful season, the Hargrave Tigers saw two players earn All-VIC recognition for their on-court performance.

The Tigers, who went 22-7, including a 3-3 mark in VIC Conference play, were paced by both IJ Ezuma ’21 (Raleigh, NC) and Mazae Blake ’20 (Germantown, MD) all season. The VIC took notice, as Ezuma, for the second consecutive year, earned All-VIC First Team honors and Blake earned All-VIC Second Team honors.

Ezuma was a force on both ends of the floor for the Tigers this season, averaging 13.1 points per game, 10.1 rebounds per game, and 2.9 blocks per game. Ezuma tallied 15 double doubles in 27 games, including 3 games with 20+ points and 10+ rebounds. Shooting 49.2% from the floor, Ezuma capped off a career year in the season finale against Norfolk Collegiate, where he poured in 14 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, propelling him over 500 rebounds for his career.

Blake, who put together, arguably, one of the best individual seasons in modern history, averaged 16.5 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game, 3.2 assists per game, and 2.6 steals per game. Blake tallied 478 points, 92 assists, and 75 steals, making him the team leader in all three categories. Blake also finished second in deflections and fourth in rebounding. Throughout the course of the season, Blake notched double digit scoring numbers in 24 of 29 games, including 11 games over 20 points. Blake stepped up in postseason play, as he put up impressive numbers, averaging 22.5 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, 3.5 assists per game, and 2.3 steals per game over that stretch. Over the season, Blake shot 47.8% from the floor, 36.8% from the three, and 86.2% from the free throw line.
