Hargrave closed out it’s weekend at the Massanutten Showcase in style, taking down Scotland Campus Sports by a score of 98-88. Scotland entered the game unbeaten on the season and holding the #1 spot in the most recent poll, but were handed their first loss by the #5 ranked Tigers, who controlled the game from start to finish. Hargrave led the contest for 38 of the 40 minutes with meaningful contributions up and down the lineup. Bryce Beamer was dialed in all night, scoring a season-high 28 points on a robust 6-9 from the 3-point line to go along with 7 rebounds and a charge taken. Connor Crabtree continued to score at a high clip, pouring in 23 points (5-9 from 3-point range) to go along with a team leading 12 rebounds. Christian Lorng did a great job neutralizing Scotland’s bigs and put in a solid 8 point, 9 rebound, 4 block line. Trey McGowens (12 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds) was the only other Tiger in double-figures.
The perfect weekend pushes the Tigers’ record to 27-3, with upcoming contests against Hampden-Sydney College and Fork Union before the annual First Piedmont Invitational on February 23rd-24th. For more information, please visit hargravesports.com or email [email protected]
