Following a 119-94 victory over Minnesota Prep Academy last night, the Tigers moved to 7-0 to start the season.

Hargrave has started this season at their traditional breakneck pace, utilizing an up-tempo style offense while applying full court pressure defensively. As we shift into the month of November, let’s take a look back on the first seven games for the Tigers.

Coach Lee Martin remarked, “We’re off to an incredible start so far. Our guys are learning how to play together and we’ve been sharing the ball extremely well so far this season.” The statistics can back that up as well as Hargrave is averaging 105.8 points per game while boasting just under 25 assists per game. Hargrave is being paced in scoring by five players currently averaging between 11-20 points per game.

However, it’s not just on the offensive end that this team has shown their skill. Defensively, the Tigers are forcing close to 28 turnovers per game (27.7) while holding teams to an average of 76.1 points per game giving Hargrave close to a 30 point per game margin of victory here in the early going.

Most recently, the Tigers had the opportunity to travel to Nassau, Bahamas for the Caribbean Tip-Off Classic, in which they were one of two teams to leave the Bahamas with a spotless 3-0 record. Bryson Childress scorched the nets from downtown and played well enough to earn First Team All-Caribbean Tip-Off Classic honors.

“It was a great team bonding experience for us. We played with international rules against some big time competition,” Martin said. “I think our guys really made the most of this opportunity and I think we’ll look back on the trip (to the Bahamas) as a key building block in our season.”

The Tigers will spend most of this month on the road, playing in events such as Georgia Elite, the NextUp Recruits Classic, and the National Prep Showcase. After this upcoming weekend’s trip to Atlanta, the Tigers will be back in Walter Davis Gymnasium on Wednesday, November 13th, for a 5:00 PM game against Charlotte Basketball Academy.
