The Varsity baseball team traveled to Roanoke yesterday to take on rival North Cross. Despite entering the game fired up and ready to compete, we struggled early with a series of errors that proved difficult to overcome. In the end, we fell 15-0.
However, there were some standout performances. Miles Rountrey continued to be a strong leadoff hitter, setting the tone at the plate. Grady Upchurch delivered a solid performance on the mound, allowing just one walk and striking out multiple batters. Carson Gayton provided steady defense behind the plate, and Michael Visser impressed in relief of Grady.
We’re eager to hit the practice field today to fine-tune our game and clean up the details. Our focus is now on tomorrow’s matchup against VES.
