Tigers Top Holy Cross

Jeremy Eubank

The Tigers took a short trip up 29 North and put together a complete team effort, coming away with an 8-0 win over the Gaels of Holy Cross. The win moved the Tigers’ record to 4-4-1 on the season.

From the opening kickoff until the final buzzer, Hargrave was absolutely dominant in their play on the pitch, starting the scoring in the 4th minute when senior forward Chad Demarest (Naples, Florida) finished off his first of five goals on the afternoon. All eight Hargrave goals were scored off of an assist in a beautiful display of teamwork. “After back to back losses, it was great to see our guys regain their focus on the fundamentals,” stated Head Coach Jeremy Eubank. “In seeing our play compared to the previous two conference games, our guys gained a better understanding of how to compete on this level.”

While Demarest led the charge, the Tigers also got goals from Gisa Rugema (Kigali, RWANDA) who scored a pair and Malik Adegbenro (Richmond, Virginia) who finished off the eighth and final goal of the game. The goal was Adegbenro’s first career varsity goal. “This was a good opportunity for us to build some confidence going into two big matches next week,” said Eubank. “We play a rival military school during the week and then host a big conference matchup on Saturday, so hopefully we can build off this.”
