Tigers Win 7th Annual Fight Against Cancer Challenge

Hargrave hosted Covenant College Prep in their 7th Annual Fight Against Cancer Challenge and remained undefeated in the event with a 108-90 win. With the gym and fans decked out in pink, Hargrave jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, winning the game without trailing at any point. The Tigers had 12 players score in the game and established a season-high with 30 team assists. Hargrave players stuffed the stat sheet all night, led by the event MVP Trey McGowens, who posted 14 points to go along with 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Jon Mebane (team-high 20 points, 6 assists), Connor Crabtree (17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists), Tre King (15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, 5 blocks) and Rob Peterson (9 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists) also posted gaudy lines in the win. Myles Parker (10 points) was all over the court for the Tigers as well.

This year’s event was in support of the Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association, who provides invaluable services to local cancer patients. Hargrave basketball is thrilled to support this great organization, and we hope you can find a way to support them as well.
