The Tigers defended Simpson Parade Field with an outstanding effort on Tuesday afternoon, winning their second straight in convincing, shutout fashion with an 8-0 victory over Oak Ridge Military Academy. The win brought the Tigers overall record to 5-4-1 on the season.

After numerous scoring chances in the opening minutes of the match, senior midfielder Gabriel Powers (Roswell, GA) started off the scoring in the 7th minute with an unassisted finish. Senior forward Chad Demarest (Naples, FL) maintain his scorching hot play with a goal in the 15th minute, capitalizing on the pass from Gisa Rugema (Kigali, RWANDA). Demarest knocked in another goal in the 17th minute, assisted by Malik Adegbenro (Richmond, VA) , and then pushed their lead to 4-0 before halftime with Usman Adegbenro (Richmond, VA) finding the back of the net off a Demarest through ball.

“One of the attributes we talk about is relentless effort in all that we do on a daily basis,” Head Coach Jeremy Eubank remarked. “It was good to see in back to back matches that our guys have started to connect more passes, give 110% effort and fight through obstacles to focus on the matter at hand. That relentless effort has become a mindset and has been reflected in the team’s overall play.”

In the second half, the Tigers picked up right where they left off as Julio Galindo (Bay Islands, HONDURAS) scored of the Usman Adegbenro cross in the 41st minute. Minutes later, Malik Adegbenro finished off Rugema’s pass to make it 6-0. Rugema broke through with his own goal in the 52nd minute after Powers played a beautiful ball in the box, putting Hargrave up 7-0. In the 62nd minute, Galindo finished off the match with his second goal coming off a rebound. It was a total team effort that propelled the Tigers to victory.
