Man of the Match: Daniel Kim was able to recover from a surge from determined Bulldog Nico Guray to pull out the only Tiger win against our second match of the season against Liberty Christian. Kim jumped out to a 4-1 lead under the bright sun, gusty wind, and appreciative crowd at Liberty University’s Hershey-Esbenshade facility. Guray replied with a streak of wins to bring the score to 5-4 before Kim began executing on point development to neutralize Guray’s scrambling energy. After over an hour of play, Kim was able to bring in a 10-4 victory. Across the board, Tigers at #1 Singles, #4 Singles, #1 Doubles, and #2 Doubles were able to stay close with the Bulldogs in matches but were unable to capitalize on critical game and match points.
Several Tigers were also able to match up with LCA opponents for additional exhibition play to gain valuable game experience that can only help Tiger and Bulldog alike. Tigers Gjenasaj, Aichinger, Kasica, Su, A. Leinbach, Chen, and Chang were able to get in time with Bulldogs Chung, Moon, Drane, Henderson, Park, and Kim.
