Hargrave Track & Field team competed against Altavista, Dan River, and Chatham High School. The long distance runners showed a great deal of heart in the 4×800 relay and the 3200 meter run, and good performances were made in the 1600 and 800 meter runs. The field events faced some tough competition, but they still earned placings in the Triple Jump and Long Jump. The sprints similarly had a hard fight, as injuries and tough breaks came the way. The evening finished with a well run 4×400 relay and their first chance to run a “Big Man” relay.
The following relays placed second overall:
4 x 800 relay – Rice, Massina, Taneus, Powers
triple jump – Harris
4 x 400 relay – Mudlaff, Taneus, Harris, Decker
Hargrave will compete again on Thursday, April 28th, followed by the Conference meet in early May.
