Trey Kelley Commits to Rio Grande

Trey Kelley has ended his recruitment, signing a scholarship with The University of Rio Grande. Kelley, a 6’4″ guard from Minford, Ohio, established himself as one of the best shooters in the nation during the 2016-17 season. He paced the Tigers in 3pt shooting percentage by shooting 51.8% from beyond the arc and shot an impressive 8-10 from three-point range in the Tiger’s record breaking 163 point outburst against RockTop Academy in February. Trey chose Rio Grande over a handful of other NCAA Division 2 and NAIA schools that were recruiting him throughout the year.

Head Coach A.W. Hamilton commented: “Rio Grande got an absolute steal in Trey Kelley. Trey is one of the best shooters in the country- at any level. He has the ability to come in and help Rio Grande compete for a championship right away. I can’t wait to follow his progress next year, and I know big things are on the horizon.”

Trey’s commitment is the 14th from this year’s roster, and the 32nd overall for the program in the past two years.
