Hargrave Aquatics traveled this weekend to College Park, Maryland, to swim in the 5th annual RMSC Kick-Off Invitational. The team swam extremely well lead by Andrew Hetzner. Andrew was high point scorer on the male side. He won three events at the meet: including the 200 Freestyle, which he swam in High School All-American consideration time. He also won the 100 Free and 500 Free. Andrew also placed 2nd in 4 other events.
Lauren Hines was the next highest scorer for the team place 3rd in the 100 Free, 4th in the 200 Free, 5th in the 50 Free, and 8th in the 100 Fly. Graham Wooten and Mike Miller each scored in three events while Patrick Martelli scored in two. The men’s team finished second behind RMSC. The women’s team finish 3rd and combined the team finished third overall.
The team has never looked so fast so early. Hetzner’s All-American consideration time is the second one swam at Hargrave and the First since Jay Smith in 1998. With 15 more meets on the schedule, the team is ready to do many great things this year.
