USA Swimming vs. Super Senior Shootout ’05 13&Older BB+ Meet

This weekend Hargrave Aquatics held its 4th annual December meet, the Super Senior Shootout. This year’s meet was bigger and faster than the previous three meets. Hargrave hosted 26 teams and 410 athletes.

Hargrave Aquatics swam extremely well, breaking 25 team records and 15 meet records. The men’s team finished 2nd overall. They were led by Andrew Hetzner, who won seven events on his way to senior male high point winner for the meet. In winning seven events, Hetzner also broke meet records in those same seven events as well as the team records in six of the seven events.

Jacob Dole, who won two events and finished 5th place among the 13-14 boys high point winners, followed Hetzner on the men’s side. Dole also set two meet records and broke five 13-14 team records, including the 200 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, 200 Backstroke, 200 IM and 100 Butterfly.

The women finished 5th overall and were championed by senior high point award winner Lauren Hines. Hines won two events and broke two meet records on her way two scoring 222 points for the team. She also broke the team record in the 200 IM on her way to a second place finish in that event.

Hines was followed by Jessie Abbott who finished 9th amongst the 13-14 females and score 156.50 points.

The team as a whole finished 5th scoring an amazing 2,295.50 points. Other athletes breaking team records this weekend were Ann O’Brien in the 400 IM, Brittany Abbott in the 1000 Freestyle and James Eu in the 200 Breaststroke. The team broke every Hargrave Aquatics relay record for both the men and women. It was an outstand job to all those who swam, and best of luck to an even better second half of the winter season.
