Varsity Baseball overcomes Carlisle School 13-2

The Varsity baseball team continued on the right path playing mistake-free baseball Monday afternoon beating Carlisle 13-2. Brad Markiewicz started on the mound for the Tigers and secured the win throwing four strong innings of no-hitters while striking out 6 players. Landis Gee pitched the final three innings, giving up four hits and striking out 3 Chief hitters. Offensively, the Tigers jumped on the scoreboard early scoring three runs in the first inning from hits by Michael Laforgia, Darrell Smith, Logan Barker, and Riggs Jordan. Hargrave scored five more in the second inning to take a demanding lead early on that Carlisle couldn’t bounce back from. Hargrave added a run in the third inning, a run in the sixth inning, and three more in the seventh inning to seal the deal. The Tigers were led offensively by Logan Barker who continues his unbelievable season. He had a huge day at the plate going 4-5 with a double, two singles, and a homerun, driving in an impressive seven RBI’s. Mattox Lawson continued swinging a hot bat as well going 2-4 with two doubles and 2 RBI’s. The Varsity baseball team will be back in action this afternoon to take a on Fishburne Military Academy in Waynesboro, Virginia.
