After wrapping up regular season play on Friday evening, five Hargrave Military Academy Tigers were given the distinct honor of being named to the All-VIC First or Second Teams. This is a product of their hard work throughout the season as well as the overall team’s success. The players that received All-VIC honors are:
#5 DJ Myers–VIC Division 2 Player of The Year, All-VIC First Team
#2 Tre King–All-VIC First Team
#0 John Kirkpatrick–All-VIC Second Team
#1 David Garey–All-VIC Second Team
#34 EJ Williams–All VIC Second Team
In addition to these individual awards, the team finished 12-0 in VIC Conference play and earned a First Round Tournament Bye. The Varsity Basketball team will play on Thursday afternoon (February 23rd, Time TBA) against the winner of Covenant/Eastern Mennonite. With a win on Thursday, Varsity Basketball would play for the VIC Division 2 Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday (February 25th) at Roanoke College with a scheduled tip-off of 3:30 PM.
Also, our JV Basketball team finished 2nd in the VIC this season and will host a playoff game on Thursday(February 23rd, Time TBA) against North Cross. This is a huge game because JV split with North Cross during the regular season. With a win on Thursday, JV Basketball would also play on Saturday (February 25th) at Roanoke College with a scheduled tip-off of 12:30 PM.
