The Tigers returned from Christmas break with an 89-77 victory over conference opponent Covenant. Hargrave started fast and jumped out to a 21-11 first quarter lead. This lead was pushed to 15 points by intermission. However, the Eagles did not go away. Covenant continued to play hard and won the 3rd quarter and cut the deficit to 59-48. In an exciting fourth quarter, timely free throw shooting sealed the win for the Tigers. This puts the team at 5-2 (3-1) for the season.
Hargrave was led by Malachi Paige with 19 points and 4 assists. Jordan Gee tallied 16 points with 12 rebounds. Lyndon Massenburg scored 15 points and Kyle Rhoades added 14 points and 5 assists. Josh Farmer came off the bench with 10 first half points.
