Hargrave hosted and defeated the Cavaliers of Chatham High School, 80-71. In a face paced game, the Tigers got out early and held a one point lead at the end of the first. Solid defense allowed Hargrave to build the lead to 11 points at halftime. Chatham played a furious third quarter, cutting the lead to four points, but the Tigers were able to build the lead back to eight by the end of the third. Hargrave withstood a final charge by the Cavaliers and used free throws to put the game away in the fourth quarter.
Hargrave was lead by Javonte Rankin with 25 points and 5 assists. Kyle Rhoades added 20 points and 12 rebounds. J.D. Misenheimer chipped in with 14 points and 6 assists. Avery Johnson finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
