The Tigers secured a conference victory last night against the Bulldogs of Liberty Christian Academy. In a slow paced game, Hargrave did not see a lead until the fourth quarter. LCA was able to control the ball, leading to a first half margin of 19-17 in favor of the Bulldogs.
The Tigers were not able to cut into the deficit during the third quarter, as the Bulldogs gained a point on their lead. Finally, in the fourth, the Tigers picked up the defensive intensity. Several key stops late in the game allowed the Tigers to tie before the end of regulation. In overtime, it was all Hargrave, as the Tigers scored 15 points in the extra period, giving them a 50-44 win.
Hargrave was lead by Quinton Coples with 18 points and 6 rebounds despite foul trouble. Mike Rodriquez contributed with 16 points and Adrien Lucienne tallied 9 points. The Tigers wrap up the regular season with a home game on February 14, 2008. Tip is set for 5:30.
