Hargrave suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of the Roanoke Catholic Celtics. A sluggish start and torrid shooting by the Celtics put the Tigers in an early hole. By the end of the first quarter the score was 19-8 in favor of the visitors. While the second quarter was more balanced, Roanoke Catholic managed to increase its lead to 14 before halftime.
The second half saw the Tigers attempt to claw back into the game. At one point the deficit was cut to seven, but the Celtics had a huge fourth quarter. Hargrave was unable to keep up with the Roanoke Catholic down the stretch, falling 67-43.
The Tigers (7-0, 2-1) were lead by Quinton Coples with 14 points and seven rebounds. Mike Rodriquez turned in another solid performance with 14 points and Adrien Lucienne chipped in with 13 points and 4 assists. Hargrave returns to action January 15, 2008 to take on Carlisle. Tip is set for 6:30 at Carlisle.
