The Tigers suffered their first lost of the season to a very solid Virginia Episcopal School 61-56. The loss came in the opening round of the VES Invitational Tournament. Leading the way for the Tigers were Karson Mott (19 pts., 4 rebs., and 2 steals), Danny Wrigley (11 pts., 5 rebs., and 2 blks.) and Andrew Pughsley (10 pts., 4 rebs., and 2 steals). With the loss the Tigers record falls to 2-1 overall and 2-0 VIC.
Hargrave -52 Kerr-Vance Academy – 46
After suffering a hard fought loss in the first round, the Tigers were able to bounce back to defeat the Spartans of Kerr-Vance Academy 52-46 in the second round of the VES Invitational. Leading the way for the Tigers were Danny Wrigley (17 pts., 9 rebs., and 4 blks), Andrew McDonald (13 pts., 7 rebs., and 2 blks) and Mark Manning (5 pts., 4 assist, and 3 steals). With the win the Tigers record improves to 3-1 overall and 2-0 VIC. Hargrave returns to the hardwoods on Tuesday, December 12th, when they will host the Gaels of Holy Cross. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
