The Tigers were able to bounce back on Saturday at the Virginia Episcopal School Invitational to record their third victory of the year with a win over the Bishops of VES.
Leading the way for the Tigers was Ryan King (15 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks), Clarence Conrad (14 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals), and James Eversley (13 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assist, and 3 blocks). Guards Terry Teal (4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assist, and 2 steals) and Chris Smoot (6 assist and 3 steals) also had solid games running the offense.
With the win the Tigers record now improves to 3-1 overall and 2-0 VIC.
Saturday, December 11th – Hargrave 48 vs. Steward School 51. In the night cap the Tigers suffered a heartbreaking loss to the defending Division 3 state champions. Leading the way for the Tigers was Ryan King (16 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks), James Eversley (15 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assist, and 3 blocks) and Clarence Conrad (8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist, and 2 steals). Senior Terry Teal (6 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assist, and 2 steals) also had a solid game for the Tigers. With the loss the Tigers record now falls to 3-2 overall and 2-0 VIC.
Senior James Eversley was named to the All-Tournament team. All tournament players were selected by the opposing teams coaches.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, December 14th, at home against Holy Cross. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
