Hargrave faced a fast field in their opening contest at the Eastern Mennonite Invitational. With only one returning runner who didn’t participate, the Tigers find themselves in a rebuilding year.
With less than two weeks of preparation, there has been encouraging progress from the first day of practice. Sebastien Kuivenhoven placed first for the Tigers on the hilly course, with a 7:09 pace per mile. James Spencer, Aaron Montgomery, Philip Churilla, and James Burke all scored for Hargrave. Sam Smith and Ben Kauffman rounded out the field for HMA.
Running in their first meet Dakota Wetherbee and Jonathan Bowman represented Hargrave in the Middle school race. Encouraged by their teammates the young men placed 45th and 58th in a field of eighty one runners.
