In their first appearance in the VIC post-Season Tournament, the Tigers did not disappoint as they went toe-to-toe with #1 ranked Blue Ridge School. The game was action packed as both teams had solid scoring runs and strong defensive stands. The lead was exchanged four different times and the level of physical play and aggressiveness made for a great game.
The first half saw a strong performance by the Tigers as they went down early, but battled back to take a 12-10 lead in to halftime. Both teams would continue to trade shots in the second half where the Barons and the Tigers each held lead advantages.
Unfortunately a late series of fouls would leave the Tigers a man down and give the Barons an opportunity to regain the lead. Down by one goal late in the game, time would expire before the heart, hustle, and passion of the Tigers would win out. As the last buzzer sounded, the Tigers had left it all on the field, but had fallen short as Blue Ridge would take the 18-17 victory.
Outstanding performances by junior Nicholas Thompson, junior Connor Rogers, senior Luke DeWitt, and senior Nathan Weber helped anchor the Tigers’ efforts and deliver a first class performance.
The Tigers finish the season with the best lacrosse record in school history at 12-5 , a #4 ranking in the conference and a quality post-season showing.
