On February 18, 2014, Hargrave varsity Rifle Team completed the winter sports season with the State Match held at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in Lexington, Virginia. Hargrave won the tournament with a top score of 2038.
The team was undefeated in its regular season and finished 6-0. The team scored a total of 6,225 points for the season.
The team performed well in the State Match. This was the first time that we competed under conditions at a college level.

VMI’s LTC William F. Bither (ret.) was very impressed with the team as a whole and spoke with four team members about the posibilities of competeing at the next level.
Our team will lose seven shooters this year. All will be missed. The team would like to thank the school for its support this season. We would also like to thank the parents for their help in making sure we were well fed.
