Varsity Soccer Falls In Conference Opener

The Hargrave Tigers’ Varsity Soccer team lost in a heartbreaking buzzer-beater 4-3 on Thursday at The Miller School in Charlottesville. The Tigers came out sluggish and on their heels in the first half, and were scored on in the 22nd minute of the game by Miller’s effective offensive attack by H. Charwat, who ultimately ended the game with a hat trick. Dimitri Darroll answered with a goal 37 minutes in to tie the game up at the end of the first half.

The Tigers’ outstanding performer Thursday was Christopher Fuschish. He scored 2 goals in the second half, giving the Tigers a boost when they were trailing, to tie the score up 3-3. Unfortunately, the Tigers offensive boost was not enough to win the game. A goal just before the final whistle gave the Mavericks the win.
Leading the team with shots on goal was Christopher Fuschish with 6. Creed Hall was in the net with 9 saves.
