Varsity Soccer Tops RVCS In Opener

The Varsity Tigers came out ready to play in their home field opener against Roanoke Valley Christian School on Tuesday. Having been on campus practicing since August 19th, the team wanted nothing more than to sink their teeth into a victory to open the season. The team accomplished just that through teamwork, diligence, and competition.

The Tigers came out in the first half and dominated the game, winning almost every 50/50 ball and looking fearless. This quick start settled into a tempo in which the team possessed the ball, played simply, and even the communication among the players was positive and excited. The team put two goals on the board in the first half. The first point came from Dimitri Darroll asisted by Austin Kaizer. The second goal was a team effort with a beautiful cross and header finish by Ranier Radkowski into the back of the Eagles’ net.
Leading the team in saves is newcomer, Creed Hall with 8. Offensively, Ranier Radkowski lead the team with 5 shots on goal. The Tigers will go to Charlottesville on Thursday to play The Miller School.
