The third ranked Cadets of Benedictine made short work of the Tigers in the second half with a flurry of goals that gave the Tigers their first defeat of the season.
The Tigers were able to hold the Benedictine Cadets at bay for the majority of the first half with good defensive pressure making clear and easy shots hard to come by for the Cadets. Along with superb play from goalkeeper Nathan Bloom, who made many big saves throughout the contest, the Tigers were able to end the first half behind 0-1. Although, the second half proved to be a change of events for the Tigers as the Cadets found the back of the net five more times in the early going, and would add their seventh on a converted penalty kick later in the match.
Despite the seven goal outcome, goalkeeper Nathan Bloom came up big for the Tigers on several occasions. Bloom finished with 17 saves in the match giving a great effort in the net for the Tigers.
The Tigers will look to bounce back as they host Roanoke Valley on Thursday at 4:00.
