Hargrave 2 – Blue Ridge 5
The HMA Tigers went up against a strong opponent in Blue Ridge School and took one on the nose with a 5-2 loss. The Tigers went shorthanded since it was an Open Weekend but still gave a valiant effort. Many of the boys stepped up and played their best against a bigger and stronger team with 26 players on their roster.
After giving up two goals in the first half, Rwad Alshinibr was able to put one in the back of the net for the Tigers to make it 2-1 at the halftime break.
The second half went much the same as the Tigers gave up 15 shots and 3 goals to Blue Ridge. Edwin Choi was able to add a goal just before the end of regulation to bring us to the final 5-2 score.
The Tiger spirit was examplified so well with a valiant effort in goal by senior keeper Bradley Faught. He came up with an amazing 20 saves for the game with many coming at close range. He definitely was the most valuable player of the game for the Tigers with one great save after another.
