Hargrave 1 – LCA 12
Hargrave played a good first half against LCA by applying pressure and really working to keep them contained. Kip Gore, Forrest Brown, Nick Fallen, and Raad Al-Shinibr applied a lot of pressure to their defense to the point of causing them to make enough mistakes to where they scored on themselves. Gore was the last Hargrave player to touch the ball before it went in the net and thus he is credited with our only goal of the game. On the other end of the field, Sam Shuey was having his best game yet. Three of the five goals that were scored on Shuey were one on one situations. The halftime score was 4-1. Shuey had nine saves on the game before he had to come out due to a collision going after a 50-50 ball early in the second half.
Even with tremendous odds stacked against them, Evan Starks, Paul Salisbury, Nathan Davenport, and Aaron Montgomery continued to contribute through aggressive play every minute they were on the field. Josh Sadler, Aiden White, and Camara Thomas did a great job filling in on defense as hamstrings tightened and ankles throbbed during the second half of action. Daniel Jonas filled in for Sam Shuey when he had to leave the goal and Jonas had two saves on the game.
