Hargrave 5 – Roanoke Catholic 1
The Hargrave Tigers gained a much needed win against Roanoke Catholic. Scoring in the 7th minute was Dapo Omisore with Miles Pilkington receiving the assist. Roanoke Catholic tied it up in the 9th minute. Taking the score to 2-1 for the half, Nicholas Fallen scored with a shot from the eighteen after a nice pass by Rhys Emlet in the 37th minute. Jay Suthard held off Roanoke Catholic’s attempts to tie it up with some outstanding goalkeeping late in the 1st half.
Kip Gore opened the scoring for Hargrave in the second half with goals in the 41st and 50th minutes. Evan Starks assisted Kip on his second goal of the game. In the 66th minute, Miles Pilkington scored off a through ball by Ben Baker in the chaos inside the box following a free kick.
Hargrave’s defense, composed mainly of Nicholas Fallen, Miles Pilkington, Evan Starks, and Joshua Sadler kept Roanoke Catholic to 7 shots on goal. Jay Suthard had a solid game in the goal with 6 saves.
