Hargrave 1 – VES 2
The HMA Tigers hosted a strong team from Lynchburg in the Bishops from VES. The Tigers had the lead 1-0 at halftime but allowed two goals scored by the Bishops in the second half.
Yassin Asfour scored his fifth goal of the season with a hard low shot that found the back of the net about midway thru the half. Even though the Tigers had some limited chances, they were unable to find the net.
The Tigers were under strong pressure most of the game and allowed 19 shots on goal while only taking 12 shots on goal. The corner kicks were also in favor of the Bishops 6-2. The Tigers had some defensive difficulties which allowed too many unchallenged opportunities for the visitors. The Tigers will regroup and be better prepared for North Cross when they come to visit us on Friday, Oct. 3rd at 4:30 PM.
