The Tigers hit the road in their first VIC clash against military rival Fishburne Military Academy. The Tigers routed Fishburne at 12-2.
After allowing an early goal, the Tigers were able to respond in 13th minute with a goal by Raines Wall (Chatham, VA) that was assisted by Youssef Abouzied (Cairo, Egypt) to tie it up 1-1. Wall had a first strong first half in that he added two more goals and assisted on another goal as the Tigers took a 5-2 lead into half.
In the second half, the Tigers jumped out to a commanding lead by scoring three goals in the first eight minutes to take a 8-2 lead. Caleb Gibbons (Toledo, OH) led the Tigers in the second half with a hat trick and an assist during the period. For the game, Gibbons and Wall collected four goals and an assist a piece. “Overall I am very pleased with our effort and teamwork I saw on the pitch,” stated head coach Jeremy Eubank. “Tonight’s effort is a display of team-first perspective in that we had six different guys score goals and nine different players provided an assist.”
Scoring the first goals of their career were Ebrahim Al-Aghbari (Yemen), Joahcin Taneus, and Abouzied. The Tigers will host Eastern Mennionte on Friday evening at 5.
