The Hargrave Tiger Swim Team won its first meet of the year over Fuqua yesterday.
The swimming team performed very well in all 12 events, already qualifying nine athletes for state championship. Event winners include Josh Carden, James Eu, Mike Wheeler, Jarred Wood and Jon Waltz. Other swimmers scoring in the meet include Joseph Campbell, Andrew Phelps, David Rand, Jordan Koenig and Brian Holifield.
The team continues its season today with a meet against James County High School and George Washington High School, which both feature AAA high school teams. The team is hopeful for continued success against much larger schools.
