The Tennis team was able to escape yesterday’s mid-afternoon showers to travel to North Cross School in Roanoke, Virginia. A strong NCS team dictated the pace of play throughout the singles ladder except at #6 Singles. Cadet Raines Wall made his varsity singles debut against a steady Nishant Jha. As singles play closed across the hilltop courts, Wall and Jha were still fully engaged with a game score of only 2-3. Eventually the contest would end with Jha victorious 10-5.
In the doubles ladder, Cadets Tyler Aichinger and Zach Gjenasaj were able bring home a 8-2 victory.
Three Tigers will return to North Cross this Saturday, 4/26, for the VIC Singles Tournament. Our final regular season team contests will be next week at Carlisle School (4/29, our second match-up of the season) and Eastern Mennonite School (5/1 in Harrisonburg).
