The Hargrave Tigers Varsity Tennis team traveled to Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA to take on Liberty Christian Academy under sunny skies and unseasonably warm court-side temperatures in the low 80’s. Settling in back into a groove after Spring Break, the Tigers came out roaring. Miles Pilkington, Yiwen Zhang, and Nabeel Barqawi put up a long struggle before succumbing to their opponents in singles play. The final match scores for Rafi Tudela, Frankie Chang and Hongbo Hu don’t reflect the long rallies in each player’s respective contests as they refused to go down quietly.
Turner Wall, Chase Cooper, and Wei An Chen were able to participate in exhibition play with a gracious LCA team.
With the loss, the Varsity Tennis team record drops to 0-3 in VIC play. Varsity Tennis next takes on Fishburne Military School in Waynesboro, VA on Tuesday, April 3 before returning home against Miller School on Thursday, April 5.
