After a brief senior recognition ceremony, the Tigers came out swinging against a steady MSA squad. Many of the matches were closer than the individual set scores indicated and as usual don’t really tell the complete story of determination to overcome errors and build points. Of particular note, David Kiesnowski found himself down 2-5 before putting on the brakes to trade games to 3-6 and then take 4 of 5 games to make the score 7-7. The grind continued until he succumbed 8-10 in the longest match of the day.
Hargrave Tennis finished the season in the middle of the VIC with a record of 3-5.
They advance to play VES, the #3 seed in the VIC playoffs Tuesday afternoon in Lynchburg.
