During June 2013, Hargrave Military Academy hosts the popular West Point Swimming Camp at its Onishi-Davenport Aquatic Center. This is the first time the West Point Swimming Camp has been offered at Hargrave. The swim camp will run from June 17 to June 21, 2013. It is open to the community.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity for Cadets, current and prospective, to learn from Coach Mickey Wender, the head coach of men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams at the United States Military Academy,” said Coach John Eife, Hargrave’s Director of Aquatics. “As a prep school for West Point, Hargrave is excited to feature their swimming camp.”

The West Point Swim Camp features a progressive system of skills and drills that are focused on perfecting the basics of competitive swimming in an easy-to-understand format. In addition to swimming instruction, the campers will learn about nutrition, motivation, goal setting, dryland training, taking their swimming to ‘the next level’ and much more. Come take part in this one-of-a-kind experience. Cost is $520 per overnight camper ($420 per commuter). The camp is open to athletes aged 10 and older. Previous swim experience required. All campers will be provided with a swimming cap and a T-shirt.

“Please join us for our inaugural year featuring the West Point Swim Camp at Hargrave Military Academy,” Eife said.
