Both teams entered play on Tuesday unbeaten, but only Dan River would emerge unscathed, with a 63-34 victory against Hargrave. Hargrave came out of the gate strong with a three-pointer from Tyler Chisholm (13 pts, 3 3-pointers) but would quickly relinquish that lead and never regain footing for the rest of the evening. While Chisholm was the only Hargrave player to crack double digits in scoring, both
Robert Tubbs (5 steals) and Ben Dorfman (8 rebounds; 7 in the 2nd half) both showed tremendous effort in other areas of the game. With the loss, the Tigers fall to 3-1 (2-0 VIC) on the season.
The Tigers will look to regroup and get back to their winning ways against longtime conference rival Liberty Christian Academy. The game will be played in the Walter Davis Gymnasium on Thursday December 12. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30.
