The Hargrave chapter of the National Beta Club is a selective national honor society created to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.

Standards of membership in the Hargrave Military Academy Chapter of the National Beta Club must conform to the general features as laid down in the National Constitution, the Hargrave Military Academy Constitution and By-laws and, in all cases, must be approved by the Executive Committee.

Senior Beta Club

The membership of the Senior Beta Club section of the Hargrave Military Academy Chapter of the National Beta Club shall be drawn from grades nine through twelve. The scholastic requirements for membership in the Senior Beta Club are: a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 for grades ten through twelve, Dean’s or President’s List for a minimum of one semester and an Advanced Studies Diploma. The prospective member must demonstrate a history of service and leadership within the school community, must actively participate in two extra-curricular activities and be in good standing with the Hargrave Military Academy Honor Council.

Junior Beta Club

The membership of the Junior Beta Club section of the Hargrave Military Academy Chapter of the National Beta Club shall be drawn from grades seven through eight. To be inducted into the Junior Beta Club, a prospective member must maintain the Dean’s or President’s List for a minimum of one semester, actively participate in a minimum of two extra-curricular activities and be in good standing with the Hargrave Military Academy Honor Council.
