On Tuesday afternoon, the Hargrave Runnin’ Tigers made their way to Waynesboro, Virginia to compete in the Fishburne Caisson Classic.
With all the challenges brought on this year by COVID-19, it was a pleasant sight to see the Hargrave Cross Country compete interscholastically. It appears the Runnin’ Tigers were extremely excited to compete in their second meet of the year as they obtained a perfect score, obliterating their opponents as all five team members in the first race placed 1-5. Cole Sprague ’21 led the Runnin’ Tigers with a time of 19:19 and Wesley Marquardt ’21, Jaden Carter ’21, Jay Thompson ’21 and Jacob Miller ’24 followed behind respectively.
In the second wave, the Runnin’ Tigers had another strong showing as Peyton Smith ’21 placed a close second overall. Smith was followed by Ethan Teluk ’22, Kai Chuang ’23, Bohong Yang ’22, and Christopher Roe ’22 rounding out the field for Hargrave after an outstanding effort.

The Runnin’ Tigers will be back in action next week as they head to Christian Heritage Academy in Rocky Mount, Virginia on Tuesday October 20th.
