On Monday afternoon the Tigers kicked off a three match week with an impressive 7-2 victory over the visiting Carlisle Chiefs!
The victory on Monday afternoon got the Hargrave four match home stand off on the right foot as they sprint into the last two weeks of the regular season. The Tigers were blessed to have a normal singles lineup with Alex Owen and Kevin Hawkins taking to the courts after injuries. Hargrave was also able to get some contributions on the doubles side from individuals and pairs that have really made positive strides throughout the course of this season.
Man of the Match award goes to Connor Henretta who logged in a tightly contested 90 minute match (vs 30-40 minutes) with several dozen shot rallies (vs the usual 4-5 shots/rally). With each game going to deuce and no clearly overpowering player, the score climbed to 7-6. Connor’s serve was broken to make the score 7-7. With the threat of a tie-breaker looming over them, Connor broke his opponent’s serve in turn to take the lead 8-7 and then held serve to finish out the match 9-7.

Hargrave will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon April 27th as the host VIC foe Eastern Mennonite School. The match is set to begin at 4:30 PM.
