Our Summer Camp is open to current students and students new to Hargrave. Many families use the Summer to try out life at boarding school. Each sport section is two weeks long. Students can choose two sports or repeat the same sport twice.
Athletes (or aspiring athletes) who live close enough to campus can register for just afternoon sports or can combine sports with morning classes.
Develop your skills in historic Walter Davis Gymnasium. Whether you're coming in as a highly recruited athlete or someone playing the sport for the first time, our coaches will help you improve. Led by coaches from both the Post Graduate and Varsity teams, you are sure to come away with a marked improvement. Activities will range from basic conditioning and skill work to team and individual competitions by the end of the summer.
Take to the gridiron this summer and get ready for the upcoming Football season. Participants will take part in individual skill and conditioning drills on the field combined with weight room sessions. No matter what your position is, our coaching staff will help you improve your craft each day, as well as branching out to experience other positions.
Lacrosse is the fastest sport on two feet. Join us this summer for the opportunity to grow and develop your game. From first year players to those striving to play in college, you can participate in individual skills training for each position and team based competitions. For those motivated to take their game to the next level there will also be film breakdown.
Take advantage of the gorgeous Onishi-Davenport pool on a daily basis and work on your skills. Work on your strokes, practice your diving skills, or even learn how to swim. This selection will afford you the opportunity to work with a coach directly to move towards your individual goals- no matter what they are. Swim in friendly timed competitions and enjoy free time activities like pool basketball and water polo.
Participants will work on both individual skills and team building exercises over the course of the program. Individual ball handling, shooting, goal-keeping, defending tactics and soccer conditioning are all part of the camp. With great coaching, guest speakers and video study, there is no doubt that each young man will walk away with an improved skill set and perspective on the sport.
Our fitness camp will focus on individual fitness through weight training and participating in different sports. Students will have scaffolded daily workouts in the newly renovated weight room. One day a week students will have a pool workout day (shallow end) and twice a week have a sports afternoon. Track & Field, Flag Football, Basketball and Tennis are among the available sports.
