Although scoreless in the first half, the Tigers continued to play hard against Tunstall and the shots finally began to fall. Scoring in the 48th minute of play was Patrick Bates. In the 64th minute of play, Oscar Nelson scored off an assist by Patrick Bates and then again off an assist by Peter Morcombe in the 73rd minute. Ian Beliczky had 6 saves and earned the shutout.

Varsity Soccer vs. VIC Quarterfinals – Eastern Mennonite HS

The Hargrave Tigers (7-10-1, 4-3) knocked off No. 3 Eastern Mennonite (15-3-1, 7-1) in the first round of the VIC playoffs, 2-1, in a thrilling overtime matchup in which all three goals came in the extra periods of play. Hargrave entered the match as the fourth seed with a 3-3 record out of the East while Eastern Mennonite obtained the top seed after a 7-0 run through the West.

Varsity Soccer vs. Holy Cross School

Hargrave's Mike Dalpini and Scott Dinius each recorded two goals and one assist on their way to lead the Tigers (6-10-1, 3-3) to a 4-1 win over Holy Cross in their final match of the regular season. Two other Hargrave seniors also recorded a multi-point game as midfielder Tian Yang finished with three assists and defender Austin Koeneman finished the afternoon with two assists.

Varsity Soccer vs. George Washington HS

The tigers played a good match against GW and were able to tie it up in the fifteenth minute of action off an unassisted goal by Patrick Bates. Hargrave went to halftime down by one. However, we had trouble finishing the few opportunities we got in the second half of the game and were unable to get the score under our control. Ian Beliczky had 7 saves on the game and Geoff Frazier added another 3.

The Hargrave Tigers (5-10-1, 3-3) were held scoreless for the third time this season as they dropped a non-conference match-up to North Cross (9-1-3) on Friday, 2-0.

Varsity Soccer vs. Carlisle School

The Hargrave Tigers (5-9-1, 3-3) fell short in overtime to the Carlisle Cheifs (10-2-4, 4-0-1) on Tuesday by a final score of 2-1. Carlisle's James Hoy scored the game winner with under a minute to play in the second overtime to keep the Tigers winless in their last four matches.

The Tigers opened their season with a win against Roanoke Catholic. Peter Morcombe scored the first goal in the third minute of action off an assist by Austin Wilson. Timothy Johnson and Patrick Bates also scored unassisted in the first half of the game. Austin Wilson began the scoring for Hargrave in the second half off a throw in by Oscar Nelson. Ian Beliczky then took over by scoring a hat trick off of assists by Austin Wilson, Peter Morcombe, and Charles Amos.

The Hargrave Tigers (5-7-1, 3-1) fell to the No. 15 Liberty Christian Bulldogs (11-2-1, 4-0-1), 4-2, backed by a four goal performance by the Bulldog's star forward Abass Ayembillah. The match featured six total goals, 36 shots, and numerous opportunities for both sides.

The Hargrave Tigers (5-6-1, 3-0-0) played to a 3-3 draw against No. 19 Fork Union (3-2-2) on Tuesday that witnessed a thrilling second half and two three-goal performances. Hargrave senior midfielder Scott Dinius recorded all three goals for the Tigers, including the game tying goal with just over 12 minutes to play, as Fork Union forward Mike Jewell also tallied all three goals for his respective side.

On Monday the Hargrave Tigers (2-5) were locked in a tight game with the Carlisle Chiefs (5-2-2), but were left scoreless for the second time this season in the 1-0 loss. The Chiefs scored off of a defensive miscommunication and missed clearance in the 55th minute of play and held on to secure the victory.

Varsity Soccer vs. EMHS Invitational – Paul VI

The Hargrave Tigers (2-4) in their third and final game of the EMHS Invitational met with No. 9 the Panthers of Paul VI (3-4). With the Tigers playing their fourth game in three days and only four hours following their match-up with Christchurch the Tigers took the field with tired and heavy legs. The Tiger fatigued showed as the majority of the match-up was played in Hargrave's half of the field, and the final shot count left the Panthers at a distance, 24-4.

On a cool and early Saturday morning the Hargrave Tigers (2-3) faced off against their second opponent of the EMHS Invitational as they took on the No. 17 Christchurch Seahorses (2-4-1). The Seahorses scored with just under three minutes remaining with a goal from Charly Benhase to avoid overtime and secure the victory.
