JV Basketball Beats Eastern Mennonite High School
February 13, 2012
Hargrave started the game showing their best offensive effort in the first quarter. The Tigers cam eout strong ending the first quarter with 22 points. The Tigers kept up the solid play on both sides of the ball and finished the game ahead 58 to 46.
Hargrave JV Basketball Victorious Over Lynchburg Homeschool

The Tigers started out the game strong pulling ahead by a score of 15 to 10 in the first quarter. The second quarter saw the Lynchburg Homeschool pull ahead by a 24 to 23 score as Hargrave hit a cold shooting spell.
JV Basketball Defeats Carlisle

The Tigers started out the game matching Carlisle basket for basket and ended the half with a 27-29 score.
JV Tigers Fall to Westover Christian Academy

The Tigers battled a hot shooting Westover team and came up short. The Tigers got off to a slow start and finished the first quarter with just a 6 to 3 score.

JV Tigers Lose to North Cross School

The Tigers started the game against the North Cross very slow in the first quarter by a score of 19 to 7. The second quarter was the Tigers best quarter, scoring 20 points, highlighted by Shane Bousman’s three 3 pointers.
Tigers Fall to Carlisle School

The JV Tigers played their third close game in a row, but went down fighting. The Tigers started the game getting behind in the first quarter by a score of 11 to 6 and could not seem to ever fully catch up.

The Hargrave JV Tigers had another exciting come-from-behind victory against Eastern Mennonite H.S. JV team. The Tigers had a poor first half, committing a lot of turnovers. The Tigers got down in the first half by as many as eleven points but made a little run before half time to cut the score to within six points.

JV Tigers Beat Fishburne
January 11, 2012
HMA JV won their third game Tuesday afternoon against Fishburne Military School. The Tigers came out with a strong man-to-man defense and shut down Fishburne in the first quarter holding them to only 4 points. The Tigers continued applying a tough defense and had excellent team play on offense. The scoring for the game was evenly balanced with Mathew Fasul with 10 points, Cory Wood and Markez Newkirk with 8, Tyler Banks 6, Kin Chan 6.

The Hargrave JV Basketball team ran into a good Covenant team and lost 26 to 54. The game started out with Covenant ona run with the first 9 points. Hargrave played a good 5-minute period to gain backthe advantage, ending the first quarter with a 15 – 9 score.
JV Tigers Lose to LCA

The Hargrave JV had a great team effort against the Liberty Christian Academy Bulldogs but just could not close the deal. Hargrave started the game with excellent defensive effort and good teamwork on offense. The Tigers maintained a lead in the game for most of the first three quarters but shots just did not fall in the third quarter. Cory Wood was the leading scorer with 12 points and Andrew Hargrove and Trent Lovelace followed with 9 points each.
JV Basketball Victorious Over Fishburne Military School

The Hargrave JV earned their second win of the season by competing in an excellent team defensive effort. After a slow start the team outscored Fishburne in the second quarter 19 to 3 and never looked back. Trent Lovelace lead the way with a 14 point effort and Cory Wood and Markez Newkirk each scored 9.

JV Basketball Drops Season Opener to Tunstall

The HMA JV basketball team opened the season against Tunstall. The team started out the first quarter very slowly, bothered by first game jitters and a good Tunstall team. By the end of the first quarter, the Tigers were down down by fourteen. After a slow start, the team played much better and came together as a team before falling to Tunstall by a score of 51-34.
