Varsity Basketball vs. Appomattox County High School

Hargrave returned to the road to take on the Raiders of Appomattox County High School in a non-conference contest. For the second game in a row, the Tigers fell behind by one point at the end of the first quarter.

The Tigers returned from the Christmas break with a 78-62 win over the Chiefs from Carlisle School. On the road, Hargrave fell behind by one point at the end of the first quarter.

Varsity Basketball vs. Virginia Episcopal School

March 26, 2011

The Tigers suffered a defeat at the hands of the Bishops of Virginia Episcopal School, 83-89. The Bishops roared out of the gate, taking a 26-11 first quarter lead.

Varsity Basketball vs. Holy Cross

March 26, 2011

Playing on back-to-back nights, the Tigers struggeled against the Gaels of Holy Cross, but were able to pull out a tough conference win, 57-54. A sluggish first half was lead by Hargrave 23-21. By the end of the third quarter, Hargrave increased the lead by four points.

Varsity Basketball vs. Chatham High School

March 26, 2011

Hargrave hosted and defeated the Cavaliers of Chatham High School, 80-71. In a face paced game, the Tigers got out early and held a one point lead at the end of the first. Solid defense allowed Hargrave to build the lead to 11 points at halftime.

Varsity Basketball vs. VES Tournament

March 26, 2011

The Tigers opened the season at the Robert Thomas Memorial basketball tournament at Virginia Episcopal School. The opening round game was played against E.C. Glass High School on Friday night. Hargrave jumped out to an 18-12 first quarter lead behind hot shooting by Javonte Rankin. Glass came back to take a three point lead by half time. In an exciting second half, the lead exchanged hands several times

Varsity Basketball vs. Westover Christian Academy – Scrimmage

March 26, 2011

The Tigers opened the season with a 66-33 victory in a scrimmage against the Bulldogs of Westover Christian Academy. Hargrave jumped out to a 7 point first quarter lead and never looked back. The lead was built to 12 by halftime and ballooned to a 58-23 lead at the end of the third quarter. Stifling defense allowed the Tigers to score easy transition buckets and the rebounding battle was won 30-13.

Bartholomew Named to 2009 USA Basketball Team

April 23, 2009

365 Sports, Inc. recently named Cadet Freshman William T. Bartholomew, Jr. of Hargrave Military Academy to the 2009 USA Basketball Team. William will represent the United States at the 2009 Wilson Swiss All-Star Tournament, which will be held in Switzerland. This decision to accept him was based on his exceptional play and dedication to basketball.

Smith Named All-Conference

April 21, 2009

Varsity Basketball player and junior Danny Smith was recently selected for an honorable mention for the All-Conference Division of the Virginia Independent Conference (VIC). Smith averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists for the season. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Smith, Jr. and is from Goldsboro, North Carolina.
