Varsity Rifle Team vs. Massanutten Military School

The HMA Rifle Team pulled off another victory against MMA. The team fired over 1000 points for the third consecutive match. First year shooter Kirk fired his personal best of the season (218). Both Kirk and Wall fired a personal best in the standing position at this match. Kneppler and Parker kept their scores above 200. Lee, another first year shooter, was part of the top 4 for the second time this year. He fired a personal best match score (233). Making great progress in his first year, Backman has been in the top 4 for 5 straight matches. He fired a personal best standing score (87). Forrester fired the team's high score for the 5th straight match as well as the high match prone (97) and kneeling (93). He now carries a 267 average for the season. Largen has also been flawless as a top 4 shooter and is a close second on the team with a 258-point average. Largen fired the high match standing score (84).

Varsity Rifle Team vs. Fishburne Military School

Though they fell 9 points short for a tie and 10 points for a victory, the HMA Rifle Team fired an outstanding match. This was their best performance of the season and the entire team should indeed be proud of their progression. For their level of experience, they have surpassed any normal expectations of a young team with a majority of first year shooters. 1st year shooter Parker saved the point spread by firing a 254. He has shown remarkable progress and his efforts at this match were appreciated by all. Both Parker and Backman were part of the team's top 4 shooters. Kirk, Lee and Wall fired their personal best scores thus far this season. They too are progressing well with their marksmanship skills. Wall has broken the 200-point barrier. For every match, both Largen and Forrester carried the team to a competitive end result. They are truly the mainstay of the team. Largen has increased his match average to 258 points. Forrester is currently the top gun of the HMA rifle team and according to statistics; he is highly competitive for the highest average (266) in the entire league.

Varsity Rifle Team vs. Fork Union Military Academy

The Tiger Shooters fired a stellar match against Fork Union. They outshoot their opponent by 108 points. Again, veterans Largen and Forrester exceeded to 250-point margin and carried the team to a decisive victory. Forrester fired the high match score (274), his personal best. He also fired the high match prone (97) and the high match kneeling (92). Largen fired a superb personal best/high match standing score (90). Very impressive work. Backman fired steady and with patience. He finished three points from the 250-point barrier. Kneppler and Parker both fired 223 points. Kneppler fired fewer misses so he will be listed in the top 4. First year shooter Lee is maintaining a solid 210.6 average. The only freshman shooter on the line, Wall fired in his first match and fired a personal best (198). Both he and Kirk are showing improvement with experience and patience.

The Hargrave Riflemen were victorious in their match against Massanutten. They managed to outshoot their opponent by 171 points. Veterans, Largen and Forrester fired a solid match. Forrester had the high match score (262), and a phenomenal high match standing score (86). Largen fired the high match kneeling score (87). Participating in his first match, first year shooter Parker fired the high match prone score (95). Two other first year shooters, Backman and Ji-Hoon Lee were part of the team’s top 4 match scores.

Varsity Rifle Team vs. Fishburne Military School

THE STREEK HAS ENDED! The Tiger Shooters have succumbed to their first rifle match loss since 19 October 2004. They held their own and dropped the match by 36 points. Many of the first year shooters are showing improvement. Backman and Ji-Hoon Lee have shaken off the first match jitters and are expected to have higher scores for the next match. Forrester fired the high score for HMA. He also fired the high HMA prone (97) and kneeling (91). Kneppler fired the high standing score for HMA (72).

The Hargrave Varsity Lacrosse Team took to the field last night to host the Raiders of North Cross and determined to make a statement to the conference. With the fog settling in for the evening and the constant mist of rain coming down, the tigers played with what can only be termed “Tiger Style”.

The Lacrosse Tigers completed their season with a solid & exciting game against Miller School, but missed several scoring opportunities in the second half that cost the game. Justin Reimer and Patrick Masterman scored two goals each, and Mike Princivil one goal for the Tigers. Jackie West played a great game at goalie recording 18 saves.
