Tigers Season Ends with a Great Effort at New Covenant

The Tigers made the short trip to Lynchburg, VA to take on New Covenant School in the season finale. With another great effort, Hargrave gave it their all before being defeated 3-1. The young Tigers finished the season 1-9-1 but made more positive strides than their record indicates.

On Thursday afternoon, the Tigers traveled to Charlottesville, VA to take on Covenant School. Despite a strong effort, the young Tigers fell 5-0.
Marquardt Paces Tigers in Caisson Classic

The Tigers traveled to Waynesboro, VA to compete in the Caisson Classic at Fishburne Military School. Hargrave ran hard and finished the meet in 7th place.

Tigers Stumble in VIC Contest; Set Sights on Rivalry Game

After three straight non-conference games, the Tigers took to Dick Dyer Field on Friday evening to take on Roanoke Catholic in a VIC contest. Hargrave fought for four quarters but wound up defeated, 48-0, moving their record to 1-5 on the season.
Tigers Take Down Gaels on Senior Day

In the midst of Hargrave's annual Parents Weekend, the Tigers took the pitch against VIC opponent, Holy Cross, and came away with a 4-1 victory. The win boosted the Tigers to 2-11-2 on the season.

The Hargrave Tigers played on the road for the second time in five days as they faced off with Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Tigers fell to the Bishops by a final score of 9-3, bringing the Hargrave record to 1-11-2 on the season.

This week's edition of "Friday Night Lights" saw the Hargrave Tigers matched up with the Virginia Spartans. After a defensive battle for much of the night the Tigers were defeated 20-0 dropping them to 1-4 on the season.

The Runnin' Tigers took a trip to Roanoke, Virginia on Thursday afternoon for a tri-meet with North Cross and Roanoke Catholic. Hargrave ran hard and placed 3rd (62 points) behind North Cross (1st-21 points) and Roanoke Catholic (2nd-37 points).

The Hargrave Tigers took a short drive up Highway 29 to take on the Bishops of Virginia Episcopal School on Thursday afternoon. The Tigers ultimately fell 3-0 but showed great improvement in defeat.

XC Continues To Improve

The Tigers Cross Country team continues to lower their times as they placed fourth at the CHARCS Invitational this past weekend. Cooler weather, fast competition, and hard work resulted in improved performances throughout the team. This was evident as Mason Schrage (19:09) and Weley Marquardt (19:39) posted runs under twenty minutes for the first time this season. Luke Adkins (20:19), Negatu Syrcle (21:09) and Scott Kennedy (21:10) keep progressing and were able to score for the Tigers.
Varsity Soccer Building Success

On a beautiful Friday afternoon the Varsity Soccer team played one of their best games of the season against the Quakers of Tandem Friends School. The exciting match encompassed a full team effort that was displayed by all three goals being assisted. Nathan Anderson assisted on the first 2 goals of the game, one in the 7th minute and the other in the 19th minute. Goals were scored by Xiao ZhengNan and Julio Galindo respectively, as the team took a 2-1 lead at the break. In the 55th minute, Galindo again was able to connect off a pass from Daniel Pierce and the team had a healthy 3-1 lead. Although the match ended in a tie, the coaches are proud of the team as they are starting to play some of their best soccer of the season! The Tigers will continue building upon this success as they take on New Covenant Tuesday Oct 1st.

XC Hitting Their Stride

The Hargrave Tigers cross country team placed second to VES, beating New Covenant and Fuqua at the Chatham Hall Invitational on Tuesday. Hargrave and New Covenant battled back and forth along the course, with the Tigers coming out victorious. Mason Schrage (21:38) came from behind to place first for Hargrave. Jaden Carter (21:45) scored second, Wesley Marquardt (21:59) scored third, Gage Crisp (22:44) scored fourth, and Scott Kennedy (22:50) scored fifth.
