Varsity Basketball vs. Tunstall High School
March 26, 2011
The Tigers fell to the Trojans of Tunstall High Shool, 62-60. The Trojans rode hot shooting in the first half to a lead as big as 13 points. Hargrave was able to whittle the deficit down to three by halftime.
Varsity Basketball vs. VES Tournament

The Tigers opened the season at the Robert Thomas Memorial basketball tournament at Virginia Episcopal School. The opening round game was played against E.C. Glass High School on Friday night. Hargrave jumped out to an 18-12 first quarter lead behind hot shooting by Javonte Rankin. Glass came back to take a three point lead by half time. Varsity Basketball vs. Westover Christian Academy – Scrimmage
March 26, 2011
The Tigers opened the season with a 66-33 victory in a scrimmage against the Bulldogs of Westover Christian Academy. Hargrave jumped out to a 7 point first quarter lead and never looked back. The lead was built to 12 by halftime and ballooned to a 58-23 lead at the end of the third quarter. Stifling defense allowed the Tigers to score easy transition buckets and the rebounding battle was won 30-13.

Dan River for First Scrimmage

The varsity baseball team held a scrimmage game against Dan River. The team lost 6-8.
JV Basketball vs. Liberty Christian Academy

The JV Tigers finished their season with a loss to LCA. The Bulldogs had a hot shooting hand in the first half, with 7 three point buckets by 6 different players, and the Tigers were cold, missing 5 buckets in the paint to end the half down 26 to 34.

The JV Tigers suffered a heartbreaking loss by one point at the buzzer. The Tigers trailed most of the game, at times by more than 10 points. At the half the Tigers were leading 20 to 19.

We played much better than the first go around against this team. We lead the first quarter but could not overcome their supperiority in heighth and strength through the rest of the game.

The JV Tigers came out hard and led the first quarter, but faded in the 2nd quarter to trail at the half. And the Tigers were not able to come back.

The JV Tigers took on the pressing Bishops. At times the Tigers dealt with the press well, however in the end the presser became too much to over come.

The JV Tigers played a well drilled Covenant team with much determination and resolve. The Tigers kept it close in the first half but the Eagles pulled away in the second half.

The JV Tigers did a good job against JV of Faith Christian Academy. Everyone got to play and all played with energy, representing themselves and their school well.

Hargrave played better, but struggled to compete against both the larger numbers and bigger students. Hargrave played the last several minutes with only 4 players on the floor due to foul-outs.

A close game throughout. We finished the game with only 4 players as 2 fouled out. We had several opportunities to tie the game but just didnt quite get the baskets.

The JV Tigers held their own in the first half against an older North Cross Team. However the second half the Tigers worn down and the experience of North Cross came through.
