Varsity Soccer Building Success

September 27, 2019

On a beautiful Friday afternoon the Varsity Soccer team played one of their best games of the season against the Quakers of Tandem Friends School. The exciting match encompassed a full team effort that was displayed by all three goals being assisted. Nathan Anderson assisted on the first 2 goals of the game, one in the 7th minute and the other in the 19th minute. Goals were scored by Xiao ZhengNan and Julio Galindo respectively, as the team took a 2-1 lead at the break. In the 55th minute, Galindo again was able to connect off a pass from Daniel Pierce and the team had a healthy 3-1 lead. Although the match ended in a tie, the coaches are proud of the team as they are starting to play some of their best soccer of the season! The Tigers will continue building upon this success as they take on New Covenant Tuesday Oct 1st.

Tigers Drop VIC Match to Eastern Mennonite

The Tigers opened the VIC Soccer Tournament Quarterfinals with #2 seed Eastern Mennonite High School on Tuesday, In a tight match till the very end, the Tigers fall 0-1.

Tigers Fall to Fishburne

The Tigers hosted the Caissons of Fishburne Military School on Friday. The Tigers opened the scoring in the first minute, however the Caissons would respond by capitalizing on two of the Tigers mistakes to win 2-1.

Tigers Win with Second Straight Shutout

The Tigers defended Simpson Parade Field with an outstanding effort on Tuesday afternoon, winning their second straight in convincing, shutout fashion with an 8-0 victory over Oak Ridge Military Academy. The win brought the Tigers overall record to 5-4-1 on the season.

Tigers Top Holy Cross

The Tigers took a short trip up 29 North and put together a complete team effort, coming away with an 8-0 win over the Gaels of Holy Cross. The win moved the Tigers' record to 4-4-1 on the season.

Tigers Use Balanced Attack to Defeat Westover

The Hargrave Tigers traveled down 29 South on Tuesday evening for a non-conference match against the Bulldogs of Westover Christian Academy. Despite a rough start, the Tigers returned to Chatham with a 4-2 victory, improving their season record to 1-0-1.

Tigers Tie in Season Opener

Eubank Selected for Service Academy Camp
